大手保険会社の敏腕調査員だったガンウ（ユ・ジテ）は、2年前に妻と息子を飛 行機事故で亡くし、今は私設の保険調査チーム「マッド・ドッグ」を率いて保険金 詐欺を摘発している。
ある日、崩壊したビルの所有者でもある建築家が多額の保 険金を請求した。手抜き工事と直感したガンウは調査をはじめるが、それを否定 する建築事務所社員のミンジュン（ウ・ドファン）が賭けをもちかけてくる。
ガンウ は証拠をつかむものの、ミンジュンに出し抜かれてしまう。さらに彼は飛行機事故 を起こしたキム副機長の弟だと名乗り、ガンウを挑発する。はたして彼は何のた めにガンウの前に現れたのか？ やがて2年前の飛行機事故には重大な秘密が 隠されていたことがわかる。
