ですが、 この米びつ世子の子供のサンが王位に就いたときに洗草という儀式で消し去ってしまったので実はその全貌は今でもわかっていないのが現状となります。

世子の父である英祖は、2番目の息子荘献世子に公務を代行させようとする。
1番目は、早くに亡くなってしまったため。
だがこれを面白く思わなかったのが反対派の老論派（ノロンパ）。
老論派（ノロンパ）は、世子と父の英祖を仲たがいさせるべく、謀略をめぐらしす。
英祖は、公務の代行を辞めさせようとするが世子は報告なしに遊覧するなど、この行動を老論派（ノロンパ）が英祖に世子にふさわしくないなどと告げる。
これは、世子を陥れようとした老論派（ノロンパ）が側室の昭媛ムン氏や貞純王后などを利用して世子にまつわるよからぬ噂を次々と英祖に吹き込んだため世子は精神を病んで遊びまわったり王宮を抜け出したり、女官を殺したりしてしまう。
1762年、世子の非行を告発する上奏文に激怒した英祖はソンに自決を命じるも、応じなかった世子。
そこでこの世子が米びつに入れられるという事件が起こり、そして米びつに入れられた8日後に亡くなっているのが見つかります。
この死に心を痛めのが、父の英祖であった
この死を悼み「思悼世子」という諡号を贈ったと記されています。
