ストーリー
韓服の仕立てで定評のあるオクチョン。
だが母が両班（ヤンバン）チョ・サソク家の賤民（センミン）であることが知られ、仕立ての依頼が途絶えてしまう。
一方、王宮では世子嬪選びが始まる。
世子イ・スン（のちのスクチョン）は偶然を装って世子嬪候補と出会うはずだったが、手違いで服の寸法を取りに来たオクチョンと出会ってしまう。
そんな中で王・顯宗(ヒョジョン)が崩御し、スンが即位すると、大妃をはじめとする西人派と大王大妃率いる南人派の対立が激しさを増していく。
押され気味の大王大妃は甥チョ・サソクに対策を依頼する。
チョは美貌のオクチョンを使って王の心を取り込もうと目論み、オクチョンの叔父チャン・ヒョンもまた、彼女によって野望を達成しようとしていた。
こうして針房の女官として入宮したオクチョンはスンと再会、二人は急速に接近していく。
大妃の妨害をかわし、スンとオクチョンはついに想いを遂げる。
スンの寵愛を独占するオクチョンは次第に野心を膨らませていくが、同時に大きな不安を背負うことになり……。
