不吉なもとにうまれたワンソ！
皇宮にとっては不吉だと追放される。
ワンソは、金剛山で暮らし育つ。
成長後、父のワンゴンの命により皇宮に戻ることに！
だが、父ワンゴンは何者かに暗殺される。
その犯人を捜すべくワンソは開封（ケギョン）にいく。
その開封（ケボン）で渤海（ボッカイ）最後の王女、シンユルと出会う。
シンユルはあるトラブルに巻き込まれ、婚礼をあげることになった。

兄のせいで婚姻させられそうになったが、ちょうどそこにいた、ワンソに目が留まり、婚約者になってくれ頼み婚姻をあげることに！
自分の運命がかわったとよろこぶシンユル。
理由があり、ワンソはこのことは忘れるようにと言い残し別れることに・・
そして、探していた父を暗殺しようとしていた刺客を探し出し、父のワンゴンを傷つけた剣には毒が塗らいていることに気づき、急いで帰るが、すでに瀕死の状態に・・
父が目指していた理想の高麗を目指すために、豪族家のファンボ・ヨウォンと婚姻し、皇帝を狙った陰謀を暴くために立ち上がる

5年後・・・
陰謀を企んだのが、西京派のキム内議令だとしったワンソは、開国寺の開眼式の日に襲撃をかける。
一方、ワンソとの再会を夢みて高麗にきていたシンユル。
開眼式の帰り道によった川に落ちそうになったところを、ワンウクに助けられる。
ワンウクは、そのときとてもびっくりする。
その理由は、昔に愛していた人にそっくりだったからだ。
ワンウクは、シンユルに心を奪われるが・・・

シンユルの気持ち早く届くといいなと思いながら見ていたけどそこに現れたのがワンウク！
麗でもでてきたウクですが、この一人の女性との間にソとウクが三角関係になる感じは同じなんですね～！
